Enid Montague is a human factors engineer with expertise in human-centered automation in health care. She researches appropriate automation between physicians, patients and technologies and designing systems for health equity, and patient safety. She uses mixed methods in naturalistic settings to model human technology interaction and develop guidelines for human-automation that is efficient, effective and safe for patients and health care providers.
Post-Doctoral Fellows
Dr. Fatima (Shehnaz) Lakha
Ph.D., Medical Sciences, University of Toronto, 2016
Research Interests: My research interests lie at the intersection of digital health technologies, chronic disease management, patient safety, and health equity, with a particular focus on developing innovative, culturally relevant digital tools to improve healthcare delivery for marginalized populations. Additionally, I am passionate about the subsequent course of chronic diseases, such as chronic pain treatments, addressing factors like pain disability and failure to return to work, while using a Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach to design inclusive systems that empower patients and enhance care outcomes in under-served communities.
Awards: Sara Al Badr Award from the University of Toronto Institute of Medical Sciences, 2015.
